The other day we had a bit of a scare. I woke up, got ready, and went to the gym. Once I was there I used the restroom only to find some spotting. Although I reminded myself that this was normal, it still put me in a weird funk. I went about my day, but around 11 I started having intense, doubled over in pain, cramps. No more blood, but the intensity of these cramps are indescribable. I freaked. I text Doug and told him to call and make me an appt ASAP. I thought for sure this was it, I thought this was the end of the road.
Long dramatic story short, I made it to my MW's office. All is well. I heard the baby's heartbeat (145bpm!) and was able to see that there was no reason for concern.
Since then I've had a few more moments of spotting, but no more intense cramping.
Other than this day, my pregnancy has been ok. Although I wasn't aware that my body would be in a constant state of nausea. I feel sick most hours of he day, and when I'm not it's because I'm sucking on mints or jolly ranchers. It's an odd feeling, but it means my hormones are working and protecting our tiny alien baby. Despite the constant icky feeling, it has been amazing. It's something I didn't think I'd get to experience.
